The Evil Harp of Charr-Nin is the thirty-sixth episode of ThunderCats (original series).

Summary[]

Wilykit and Wilykat find a magic harp containing a genie. His name is Charr-Nin.

Mumm-Ra offers to free the genie if he helps to destroy the ThunderCats. Foolishly, Charr-Nin agrees, and begins trapping the Thundercats in his lamp one by one. Mumm-Ra's plan works, and he betrays Charr-Nin.

During their arguing, the Thundercats manage to escape, leaving Mumm-Ra and Charr-Nin battling beneath the earth.

Evil Harp of Charr Ninn error1

* After Charr-Nin defeats Tygra and has him bound by his own Bolo Whip, Tygra's boots are completely closed, covering all parts of his feet. In Tygra's normal design, his toes and ankles are always exposed.

Trivia[]

  • This episode marks the third time (out of five) that an opponent has bound Tygra using his own Bolo Whip. The first instance was in the episode Mongor (episode) and then in Dimension Doom. This tactic would also be used against Tygra in the episodes ThunderCubs, Part 4 and Chain of Loyalty.
  • This episode marks the second time (out of four) that an opponent has bound Panthro using his own nunchucks. The first instance was in the episode Dimension Doom. This tactic would also be used against Panthro again in the episodes Mumm-Ra Lives!, Part 5 and ThunderCubs, Part 4
  • Despite the episode's title, it is implicit whether Charr-Nin is evil or not, since he faced the Thundercats only because Mumm-Ra tricked him, promising to release him, which turned out to be a lie by the villain.
  • Although the series has not returned, it has never been confirmed whether Charr-Nin was in fact annihilated, since as a genius/djinn, he is technically immortal.
